About us:

sabi started in 2001 at our original location on Melrose Avenue with a mission to introduce traditional Japanese crafts to the U.S. market. sabi, which derives from the Japanese phrase gwabi sabi,h implies a sentiment that is characteristic of our culture: quiet beauty that comes with age. Japan boasts of many forms of high quality craftsmanship, which have gained recognition both inside and outside the country for centuries. There are numerous craftsmen and designers that have yet to be recognized outside of Japan, and thatfs the reason why we are here. Our hope is to be the bridge between Japanese craftsmen and customers outside of the country, who appreciate the quiet beauty and timeless appeal of these pieces just like we do.
